Broward County Code of Ethics
On August 10, 2010, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners unanimously passed a Code of Ethics that governs many aspects of how County business is conducted. Review the No Gift Policy letter from the County Administrator for complete details. As purchasing professionals, the Purchasing Division also adheres to the ethical principles adopted by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP).

Vendors Must Comply with All State and Local Business Requirements
All vendors located within Broward County and/or providing a service within the County must
have a current Broward County Local Business Tax Receipt (formerly known as an Occupational License Tax). All corporations and partnerships must have the authority to transact business in

Confidentiality of Financial Statements submitted to Broward County
Any claim of confidentiality of financial statements must be asserted in writing at the time of the submittal and the financial statements must be submitted in a separate bound document labeled “Name of Firm, Attachment to Proposal Package, RLI No. __ - Confidential Matter.” The firm must identify the specific statute that authorizes the exemption from the Public Records Law. Failure to provide this information at the time of the proposal submittal may result in a recommendation by the Director of Purchasing that the response is non-responsive. Please note that the financial statement exemptions provided for in Section 119.071(1)c, Florida Statutes only applies to submittals in response to a solicitation for a "public works" project. Requests for Broward County to Complete a Credit Application
Broward County does not complete credit applications. The financial strength of Broward County is evidenced by its AA+ investment rating from Standard & Poor's Corporation and Fitch IBCA, Inc. and its Aa2 rating from Moody's Investor Services. Broward County complies with generally accepted accounting principles as well as the statutory financial reporting requirements of this state.
